The rules, in plain words.

PutCaption transcribes speech in the videos you upload, lets you edit and style the captions, and renders captioned videos and subtitle files. We may change or improve features over time; we will not remove something you paid for during a period you already paid for.

You need an account to use the app. Keep your password private and tell us if you think someone else is using it. You are responsible for what happens under your account. One person per account unless your plan includes team seats.

Everything you upload stays yours. You give us only the permission needed to store, process, caption and export it for you. You must have the rights to the videos, music and voices you upload, and you must not upload content that is illegal, hateful, or that infringes someone else’s rights. We can remove content or close accounts that break this rule.

Plans are described on the Pricing page. Minutes are counted per uploaded video, rounded up to the next minute. Paid plans are activated after we confirm your payment through the upgrade request in the app and run for the number of months you paid for. Prices are in INR or USD as shown; taxes, if any, are your responsibility unless stated otherwise. See the Refund Policy for refunds.

When a paid period ends without renewal the account moves back to the Free plan. Your projects and exports remain; features and limits of the Free plan apply until you renew.

Do not use PutCaption to harass, impersonate or defame people, to spread malware, to bypass limits, or to reverse-engineer the service. Automated bulk use requires a plan with API access.

Automatic transcription and translation make mistakes, especially with heavy noise, overlapping speakers or rare dialects. Check captions before publishing anything where a wrong word matters. We provide the service “as is” without warranties of accuracy.

To the extent permitted by law, PutCaption is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practical.

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will be handled by the courts of the city where PutCaption is registered, unless local consumer law says otherwise.

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will email registered users before it takes effect.
